I tend to really engage with what I am reading or viewing and I have strong thought about what's presented and could talk about it for hours. I am not averse to disagreement and actually like to stay with something a long time. I find that most of the people I hang with get fatigued with too much discussion and their eyes gaze over and I need to stop way before I think we have plumbed the depths. Can anyone relate to this? I think its the TJ in us.

Re: Do you overwhelm people?
Fri, March 23, 2007 - 9:50 AMYes. It certainly interferes with dating. I practically never talk about my intellectual background, because they think they have to
"keep up," which is not to the point, since I already have plenty of intellect in my life, but need the emotional connection.

Re: Do you overwhelm people?
Fri, March 23, 2007 - 7:37 PMActually I have pretty good "social filters" in place. But if I want to become better friends with someone I give them me full-on. If they can't handle it, it probably wouldn't have been a good match. Funny enough I posted on another INTJ community about how I regretted blasting some poor schmoe because it was make-or-break friendship time. I waited with half and eye open and he said
"I found it refreshing."
And I'd found another INTJ.
