When I dress it's like putting on a uniform/costume
Work-Business casual -dark slacks(except when doing grunt work-black tee, jeans)
Home- Jeans or drawstring pants with dark-colored tee or hoodie
Going out-black, classics (sheath dress or princess seam) accented with "jewel" tones.

I never wear 'flower' colors if I can help it. No I'm not goth, I'm overweight. But I always dress both physically and mentally to be taken seriously. I rarely wear jewelry or makeup but if I do it's done with precision.

My favorite outfit is a broken-in pair of jeans and a dark blue university-style hoodie that says STFU

It's all about code switching, baby, code switching applied to modes of dress.

At F&SF conventions, I pull out the freaky t-shirts, strange aloha shirts, an occasional hall costume.

At work, corporate uniform. Spring & Summer, polo shirts and khakis. Autumn & Winter, oxford shirts and khakis. Plus an occasional grudging dress shirt & tie.

My work wardrobe is dress shirts and sweater vests [even in the summer, as the A/C in my office is notoriously hyperactive], dress pants [with a black belt] and white tennis shoes (with socks, of course, of course!) -- only change I usually make fer Casual Fridays is swapping blue jeans fer the dress pants. My weekend wear is generally not distinguishable from my Friday wear (often I'll just keep wearing Friday's clothes thru the whole weekend [okay, okay -- I change underwear!]), sometimes swapping a colored T-shirt fer the white undershirts I wear to work.

The overall color scheme of the work wardrobe is predominantly my wife's idea: whites, blacks and greys mostly.

During the winter, the shoes switch to brown hiking boots (as I don't much enjoy falling on icy parking lot surfaces).

[Now the clothes I wore *before* I wuz married? Let's just say the description "Herb Tarlek as dressed by Cyndi Lauper with pieces from Elton John's garage sale" has been put forth in the past (still wish I had my old red plaid jacket and my orange-and-black striped Huggy Bear-style pimp hat [sigh]...)]

I prefer my attire to be inappropriate in a benign way to hopefully loosen rigid attitudes about appearance...

Not having a fashionable body, I stick to earth tones, khakis, and polo shirts.

I used not to care, until I came of age. Then I realized I get much warmer attention (in a flattering way) from my surrounding if I pay attention to my exterior. Since then I became quite an expert in color coordination, fabric, make up and style.

I think I used to have favorite shirts etc. but nowadays I don't allow such follies.

i think i'm weird for an INTJ in this respect, cuz i really like clothes and enjoy fashion magazines. To be honest, i can't stand dumb fads (ie crocs---bleh!), I looove dresses and i'd wear them everyday if i had enough.

usually, however, i wear jeans or sweat pants and a t-shirt or sweatshirt. and i can't really be bothered to wear jewelery. i have to think about it.
